Black River Wilderness Park is a campground or RV park located in Washago.
Enjoy the privacy of an island campsite in the midst of the beautiful Black River. The park flows through 180 acres of wilderness located just south of Washago on Simcoe Road 169 (10 minute drive from Orillia). There are cabins available for rent, trailer sites, as well as your option of four islands in which you can tent. There is a wide variety of acitivities for young and old, including swimming (both in the river or a pool on site), fishing, canoeing, rafting and much more! The park has 4 islands on which you can tent. Three of these islands are accessible by walking bridges and another by a natural stone pathway. All sites are on the outside of the island so everyone has a river site. There is an abundance of tall trees with no underbrush growing between the sites. These large sites are approximately 750 square feet each. You must park at designated parking lots and walk your gear across to your site. Island sites are within a 3 minute walk to the restrooms and water taps. Showers are coin-operated.Each site has a firepit and picnic table. All garbage must be wrapped and brought to the mainland and put into refuse container.
